Penn State Berks student startup team Streamline Charging LLC has received national and University-wide recognition for its flexible and affordable electric vehicle (EV) charging solution that transforms the charging experience for apartment dwellers and service station customers.
At the end of 2023, nine student teams consisting of Penn State Berks mechanical engineering and occupational therapy assistant majors presented adaptive equipment designs they created to meet the needs of individuals with physical challenges. This spring, three teams will collaborate with business majors to create a business plan for their designs.
Mamadou Diallo crossed the stage at the Penn State Berks commencement ceremony as a graduate of the college’s practical nursing certificate program on Saturday, Dec. 16.
In a unique collaboration this fall, Penn State Berks engineering students in the college’s Futures in Engineering: Role-models Can Empower student organization worked with the Berks County Intermediate Unit and area high school students to make toys more accessible for local special needs children.
Two Penn State Smeal College of Business students and a student from Penn State Berks collaborated to win the 2023 Business with Integrity Case Competition.
“In the Aspiring Scholars Program, I became comfortable with myself. I was able to have a fresh start and have people accept me for who I am. It’s why I decided to stay at Berks, and it impacted me so much that I wanted to have the same impact and inspire other foster youth to come to college,” said senior hospitality management major Amy Yu.
Eighteen new Penn State Berks practical nursing program graduates will cross the stage during the Penn State Berks fall commencement on Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Santander Arena. The students earned their certificates in practical nursing and are eligible for the National Council Licensure Examination-Practical Nurse, or NCLEX-PN.
“I just want to say ‘thanks’ to all the students, faculty and staff that I met at Penn State Berks. I have so much gratitude for the campus and where it’s led me," said Berks student Arizona Shreck, who will be student marshal for the commencement ceremony on Dec. 16.
Four Penn State Berks Leveraging Innovation and Optimizing Nurturing (LION) STEM Scholars were selected to from thousands of applicants to attend the inaugural S-STEM Scholars Meeting from Sept. 14 to 16 in Washington, D.C.
